LET’S UNITE: Updated! Here Are (More) Sample Letters to Ag Minister Macaulay, MP Stanton, etc., on Urgent Pollinator Protection

Let's join hands and solve the pollinator problem. There's an old saying, "If the people lead, the leaders will follow."

EDITOR’S NOTE: THE AWAKENING NEWS SUGGESTS THAT READERS CONTACT THEIR MP’S, MPP’S, MEDIA, LOCAL OFFICIALS, ETC. TO STIR AN “AWAKENING” OVER THE ALL-IMPORTANT ISSUE OF PRESERVING OUR BEE COLONIES, BUTTERFLY POPULATIONS/HABITATS AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT ARRESTS THE OFTEN STEEP DECLINE OF THE POLLINATORS THAT ARE SUCH AN INTEGRAL PART OF OUR FOOD CHAIN.

THOSE WHO MAY NEED SUGGESTIONS OR ASSISTANCE OF ANY KIND CAN CONTACT AWAKENING NEWS AT LTE@AwakeningNews.ca OR SEE JOHN DEVINE’S MAILING ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER IN TWO OF THE THREE SAMPLE LETTERS BELOW.

> FIRST IS A  SAMPLE LETTER FROM THE AWAKENING NEWS (FROM ASST. EDITOR JOHN DEVINE) TO

> NEXT IS A LETTER TO MP BRUCE STANTON.

{WHAT WE’VE NOTICED OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS IS THAT IT CAN BE EXCEEDINGLY HARD, AT TIMES, TO GET OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS TO ANSWER COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE VOTERS. SAME GOES FOR MOST MEDIA. LET’S SEE IF THE POLLINATOR ISSUE MIGHT PAVE THE WAY FOR AN EXCEPTION}.

> AND THE THIRD LETTER SHOWN BELOW WAS SENT TO DOUGLAS GEORGE, CANADA’S ACTING CONSUL GENERAL, BASED IN DALLAS, TEXAS

1. Our newest letter, posted on this website as of Jan. 26th, 2019
to Agricultural Minister Lawrence Macaulay

To: Hon. Lawrence Macaulay
Canada’s Minister of Agriculture & Agri-Food
Parliament, Ottawa

Dear Mr. Macaulay:

It’s been approximately 10 days since  CBC Radio broadcast the story of the U.S. Border Wall construction in Texas being scheduled to destroy a Butterfly Sanctuary. Marianna Wright, the director of the Butterfly Sanctuary, was interviewed. According to Marianna construction inside the Sanctuary is scheduled with in 30 days.
Please accept this as an official request to bring all political parties together and launch an official  protest to President Trump, asking President Trump to stop the  construction inside the Sanctuary.
It is very seldom that an opportunity arises where all parties agree on an issue. (Awakening News is assuming all political parties generally agree with preserving our planet’s pollinator’s habitat)
I have reached out to the Peoples Party, the Conservative Party & the Green Party, and now the Liberals. Hopefully, your party has already been contacted by the above-mentioned parties. For details as to what is transpiring in the Texas Butterfly Sanctuary crisis, please go to our website www.awakeningnews.ca and then to articles posted on the web.

Time is not on our side. An immediate reply is expected. Let’s show Canadians how democracy works.
Yours Truly,

2. The Stanton Letter

To: MP Bruce Stanton
Simcoe North (Conservative)
Jan. 21st, 2019

Dear Bruce:

Please accept this letter as an official request to join Awakening News & Bee City Canada’s attempt to bring all of Canada’s Political Leaders/Parties together, to protest the scheduled destruction of a Texas butterfly sanctuary.

To bring you up to speed about what is transpiring in the butterfly sanctuary crisis in Texas, please go to our website www.awakeningnews.ca and read our recently posted articles about the Bee City Canada movement as well as the Texas sanctuary crisis.

Time is not on our side. Construction of the Border Wall through the sanctuary begins in less than 30 days, according to Marianna Wright, Director of the National Butterfly Sanctuary in Mission, Texas, in her interview with CBC Radio.

I have reached out to CBC Radio to do a follow-up interview with Bee City Canada, & Awakening News. No reply.

Subsequently I have written to Bell Media (CTV Barrie). Again, no reply.

Awakening News assumes the taxpayers’ representatives, such as yourself, are able to question the CBC as to why they would not immediately join the Bee City / Awakening News movement, knowing the little time left to save our pollinators.

Hopefully, you will understand the importance of assisting Bee City Canada and Awakening News in bringing all parties together to alert all who inhabit Planet Earth about the crisis our planet’s pollinators are facing.

It would be our hope this will cause all humans to take a closer look at what damage we are doing to our pollinators, and what can be done to help our pollinators.

An immediate reply is expected.

Yours Truly, John Devine

2. The Douglas George letter

To: Douglas George, Acting Consul General of Canada, based in Dallas, Texas

From: M. Samuel Anderson, consulting editor with the Awakening News of Ontario, Canada

Mr. George:

It was certainly a pleasure to meet you on the grounds of the state capitol of Texas in Austin Jan. 15th for the inaugural barbecue.

What a feast it was.

Anyway, as I mentioned, I work with John Devine in Orillia, Ontario for a news outlet located online at AwakeningNews.ca, which, of course, is on the business card I gave you when we exchanged cards.

As I also noted, we are particularly interested in groundwater preservation, especially with regards to fish hatcheries and large water-bottlers. We recently expanded our efforts to include the preservation of bees and other pollinators. We’re now collaborating with Shelly Candel of Bee City Canada and, through her, Bee City USA—which has a significant presence in Beaumont, Texas, one of America’s premier Bee Cities.

Shelly wrote the lead article for our latest newsletter that we use to promote our website.  She also is in touch with Guelph professor Nigel Raine, a world authority on pollinators.

We wanted you to be aware of this since pollinators of course are fundamental to crops and agricultural trade, which may very well come into your purview in your official capacity. Plus, you may want to simply become abreast of such issues as a Canadian citizen.

All the best. Please send an email reply with any comments you may have, or to simply acknowledge you received this communication.
